Ancient forest - road to Mitchell Falls

Bumping our way over the road to Mitchell Falls we go through sections of remnant ancient forest. The unique Livistona eastonii, (Mitchell Plateau Fan Palm) completely dominates the landscape, growing so tall and close together that only snippets of sky can be seen. Some are said to be up to 700 years old.
